Illustration of woman and man's faces
My Grandma and Grandad. Charcoal powder and pencil on paper, 29.5 x 42cm.

I create small scale portraiture works that focus on the importance of emotional reflection, and my relationship to people in my life who have offered me guidance and instilled me with hope and belief. I use charcoal powder, graphite, and pencil to create monochrome imagery with layers of depth and fine details that produce realistic depictions of these significant figures in my life.

My practice is influenced by themes of emotional, intellectual, and spiritual growth. The intention of my work is to ignite a spark of joy within the viewer, contribute to a collective sense of optimism and healing, and embrace the possibility that fostering hope can help us navigate the challenges we face.
