Drawing in the dark - Book Launch
Events — RUS 203 & Ruskin Gallery. ARU Cambridge, East Road, CB1 1PT9 March 2023, 17:00
Join us for an illustrated talk followed by drinks. This is an internal event for ARU students and staff.
Henry Moore is best known as a sculptor, and some of his drawings as a War Artist are perhaps less well known. In this talk, Chris Owen, Honorary Visiting Senior Fellow and former Head of Cambridge School of Art, will explore some of the challenges Moore faced during the Second World War, drawing underground at Wheldale Colliery where his father had worked for over 40 years. Chris will also discuss the challenges he too faced, during the research process for his recently published book on the artist.
