CSCI Research Series Seminar - Guy Sherwin - Experimental Cinema

Events — Research Event Ruskin 203
25 February 2022, 15:00

Guy Sherwin is an internationally renowned experimental filmmaker, whose work has been shown in retrospectives at major film festival and art galleries worldwide. He began making films as a student at Chelsea School of Art in the late 1960s. He was closely associated with the London Filmmaker’s Co-op early in his career and until recently taught at Middlesex University and the University of Wolverhampton. Sherwin’s extensive filmography spans observations made from everyday life, which are mediated by ingenious strategies and systems, through to ‘expanded cinema’ pieces performed with multiple 16mm film projectors.

For this special event at ARU, Sherwin will be introducing a unique programme of his single-screen and multi-screen 16mm films.
