FARU talk - AA2A Artist Update

Events — Coslett 124, ARU, East Road, CB1 1PT & Microsoft Teams
7 February 2024, 14:00

Join us in welcoming back AA2A Artists Allison Ksiazkiewicz and Anna Brownsted, who will update us on their work in progress. We will also introduce the work of Aindreas Sholtz, who recently joined us in January.

AA2A is a National Scheme that provides visual artists and designer-makers with the opportunity to undertake a period of research or to realise a project using workshop and supporting facilities in art and design departments in Higher Education institutions in the UK.

Allison’s practice is project based and explores storytelling through natural history, animals and landscape. She identifies as a printmaker and is currently working on a series of intaglio prints that will accompany a body of ceramic works exploring the history and mythologies of twelve different dog breeds.

Anna utilises a wide range of materials and methods across her practice, responding to personal histories, social structures, and ideas of well-being. Led by an ongoing exploration of liveness and presence, Anna’s process often involves creative exchanges with researchers, academics, community groups and other artists.

Aindreas seeks to pioneer sustainable printing practices amid the emerging climate crisis while relentlessly exploring the limits of technical, creative, and conceptual realms. Every image he creates is a nuanced response to specific sites, intricately weaving narratives that delve into the interconnectedness between humans, non-humans, and the broader environment.

Free to attend - All are welcome!
