CIMTR Roundtable: Music Therapy for children with acquired brain injury and their families in the UK

This roundtable event is a series of short presentations by music therapists with a wealth of experience of working with children and young people with acquired brain injuries. The presentations will cover a diverse variety of topics that will be of great interest to those working and caring for this population.

Clare Rosscornes will describe how music therapy works within the multidisciplinary team in an acute hospital setting.

Elizabeth Nightingale will show us how music can be used to maximise engagement in paediatric neurorehabilitation and describe its impact on families. Rebecca O’Connor will present on the use of music to facilitate assessment. 

Jonathan Fever will focus on the use of music to inform brain injury education and family understanding. Claire Wood will describe how music is used in emotional adjustment and identity rehabilitation.

The session will be chaired by Dr Jonathan Pool and there will be opportunity to ask the panel questions.
