PhD Animation Research: Stop-motion Animation Aesthetics 2

A post-graduate research seminar on stop-motion animation aesthetics. The presenters are: Vincenzo Maselli (Research fellow in Design at Sapienza University of Rome) who will speak about stop-motion puppet manufacturing processes; Katherine O’Connor (Teesside University) who will talk about her practice-based PhD which is looking at the uncanny and automatons; and Derrin Crawte (ARU) whose PhD thesis concerns the uncanny alongside the darkness made visible in stop-motion puppet animation.
