Roundtable: The development of music therapy models in response to practice and research

In this roundtable the speakers will outline therapeutic models and practices that they have developed during their music therapy practice and research.

Models discussed will include: a cognitive analytic model of music therapy in forensic settings; interactive music therapy with children and young people; psychoanalytic thinking in music therapy with adults; an everyday approach to music therapy with children with additional needs and their families; music therapy with people with dementia in residential care.

Short presentations on the development of the models in response to practice and research will be given by each speaker. A discussion will then be chaired by Prof Helen Odell-Miller, with questions invited from the audience.
