BA (Hons) Illustration

Colourful paper cut models of buildings

Originally from North Wales, Abi came to Cambridge in 2018 to study BA (Hons) Illustration at Cambridge School of Art to develop her illustration skills and knowledge. Throughout the course she experimented greatly, discovering a love for papercut. The process of making has become just as important as the final illustration. She enjoys the process of papercut, from a sketch, her idea comes to life by the colours and depth, becoming a 3D set, and once photographed it becomes a 2D image again.

Abi was the winner of Network Rail’s competition ‘Wish I was there’ in 2021. Her papercut picture of Portmeirion, a village near her hometown in North Wales went on display in London Waterloo Station, alongside other stations across the UK.
