Hello, I’m Emily. My work is mainly narrative based, with a focus on lots of small details and symbolism. I particularly enjoy designing characters and exploring how they interact with their environment — it’s very important to me that I give individuality and depth to every character in a scene.

I’m fascinated by history, folklore, mythology and seemingly insignificant things. I also have a deep-rooted love of textiles and fibre crafts which I think constantly informs the way that I hone in on shape and texture, as well as try to create a sense of tangibility, within my work.

For my final term, I enjoyed pursuing a variety of different projects from illustrating children’s book covers and book illustrations to creating whimsical soft sculptures for a picture-book adaptation of "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King".
