Dr. Harriet Fletcher and Dr. Jon Stone will host an open, friendly discussion around three texts: China Mieville's novel The City and the City, the 1982 cyberpunk film Blade Runner, and 2019 retrofuturist detective game Disco Elysium. We'll be thinking about the different way three different mediums approach the same or similar genres, and the enduring appeal of detective stories set in strange and forbidding lands.
