Hi, I’m Bry. I’m an Animator and Illustrator. My work focuses on character-driven storytelling and emotionally resonant themes.
I draw inspiration from minimalist storytelling, where meaning is conveyed through subtle visual cues, atmosphere, and internal character conflict rather than dialogue-heavy exposition.
I’m especially interested in exploring themes like guilt, redemption, and the quiet strength of personal change.
My short film The Fisherman is a story set in the aftermath of the Meiji Restoration in Japan. It follows Takao, a former samurai who has abandoned the sword and taken up life as a humble fisherman. However, beneath the quiet surface of his new life, he remains haunted by the violence of his past.
The film juxtaposes the calm of the present with unsettling glimpses of who Takao once was, slowly revealing the weight he carries.
The Fisherman is ultimately a story about reckoning with the past, and the quiet but powerful choice to move forward with intention and acceptance.
