Joe Booker - From Mr. Banks in Mary Poppins to the Pirate King in Pirates of Penzance, each role deepened my passion for storytelling and performance. In 2020, I transitioned to screen, debuting in a feature film and Apple TV’s Masters of the Air—experiences that sharpened my craft and ignited a drive to explore film’s full potential. I also love writing stories that can only be told on screen—visually rich, emotionally layered, and boldly cinematic. Since then, I’ve worked across England with creatives including the National Film and Television School. Now, I’m seeking global opportunities to push boundaries and move audiences worldwide.

Nina Hurajova - I was brought up on a healthy diet of fantasy films and stop-motion-animated horror films. I used to pretend I was in these films and acted as different characters I created. Studying acting abroad allowed me to be in various film student projects and I even got to create a short film with my friends. I aspire to become a great actress so I can be a part of the next generation of wonderful stories. I want to keep creating art and share it with the people, because I believe that art connects us all and makes the world a better place.

Concrete City was our Major Project submission — a film we chose to create on a larger scale than required, with the aim of crafting something visually distinctive and festival-ready.

Inspired by the psychological tension of Alfred Hitchcock, the film is an interpretive drama exploring isolation, silence, and emotional suppression. It follows Cassian and Nova as they attempt to coexist in a cold, white-lit city. With only brief outbursts of arguments breaking the silence, the city becomes a reflection of their inner turmoil.

We were fortunate to work with an exceptional team of current students, alumni, and external collaborators who each brought something vital to the process. Their creativity and commitment helped elevate the project.

An original score, composed specifically for the film, deepens the mood of the world, enhancing both the emotional and sensory experience.

We’re proud of what we’ve created — and even more grateful for those who helped bring it to life. Take a moment to watch the credits, then step into the stillness of Concrete City
