My name is Joshua Plumbly. I was a student on the Computer Games Technology course. During my final year of this degree course, I created many games including one in VR. Along with some fellow students I contributed to a published game called Perdition’s Path which is available on Itch. Perdition’s Path is a third-person rogue-lite adventure game for PC.
I have also studied at Cambridge Regional College where I contributed to a game called Neon Defence. This was a mobile game that used to be available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. This game was published under the Sixth Form’s in-house game studio Rizing Games. I along with the rest of the students showcased our games at E3 Los Angeles in 2015.
My project is a short technical demonstration for a stealth-based video game. The demo features a system where the distance in which the enemies can spot the player character is dependent on how effective the player is at keeping a low profile. The player becomes more visible to the enemies in light areas of the environment and less visible when in darkness.
The player is also less visible to the enemies when they have selected an appropriate camouflage for their environment. For example when standing on grass the green camouflage would have a low visibility score whereas the dark camouflage will be less visible in low light environments.
