Hello, my name is Ollie, I’m a game designer studying at ARU, with a background in Art Graphics and Digital Media Production.
Over the course of my degree, I’ve specialised into UI/UX and Level Design, with a spattering of other focuses such as Mechanics Design, Environment Art, and Writing.
I’m currently looking to pursue a career in the industry, putting my skills to use to develop fresh and captivating worlds for players to immerse themselves in using both Unreal Engine four-fifths and Unity.
My final year project is a narrative puzzle game loosely based on the classic board game ‘Guess Who,’ entitled The Redline.
This was developed over the course of 12 weeks using Unreal Engine 5 and was designed with the intention of exploring the link that exists between narrative and worldbuilding in video games, with a focus on writing, atmosphere, and environmental storytelling.
While challenging, I was able to complete the majority of what I wanted to from this project by the end of development. There’s still more I plan to add onto and polish with the project, but I am overall immensely proud of this project and the work it represents.
