The Fighting

My name’s Rob Garcia - artist by nature, storyteller by choice. I’ve been creating since I could hold a pencil, but now my focus is on mastering the language of cinema. My goal? To craft films that transport audiences the way the best movies shaped my own childhood, leaving behind stories that future generations can escape into.

Now getting away from all the formalities. I would only like to share some ideas and mentalities that have gotten me through uni and life. Whenever you feel down there are two things you must remember. One, its okay to have a bad day or just feel bad because its only temporary, tomorrow you might have a not so bad day. And the second thing is “It's not that deep”. There is so much more out there. (It's a big universe and it won't stop growing even when you feel bad).

The Fighting is a film that explores my emotional journey leading up to an upcoming boxing match. It offers an intimate look at the main character as he confronts the psychological toll of preparing to fight. Ultimately, he faces a twisted, darker version of himself a physical manifestation of his inner fears and struggles.

Man operating a professional camera mounted on a shoulder rig, focusing intently. They are wearing a black jacket indoors.
Person on ladder adjusting lights on a dark stage with black curtains and green screen, surrounded by equipment.
Half-lit face of a man with a beard, the left side in shadow and the right side illuminated, creating a dramatic contrast.
Close-up of a man's face, partially in shadow, with a serious expression and light highlighting his features in a dramatic, low-key setting.
Two people with jackets stand outdoors, facing away, with blurred trees in the background and an out-of-focus object in the foreground.
Looking up a spiraling metal staircase with a central circular light at the top, creating a geometric pattern.
