Hi, I’m Aino, an illustrator from Finland, now based in Cambridge.

I love to read, and literature is my main source of inspiration. In addition, the Finnish nature, my family heritage and visits to art galleries influence my work.

I enjoy working with visual narratives and areas of illustration such as publishing and children’s books.

I enjoy working with ink and watercolour. After discovering etching and risograph during the course, printmaking became part of my practice as well. Research and sketchbooks are always parts of my creative process, as they help me delve deep into the subjects of my work.

My visual language is delicate and introspective, and I aim to create work that encourages people to stop, look slowly and think.
