Steam Engine Room In Proposed Site. A digitally edited photograph showing of the final model on site and how the concept will look like in the Museum of Technology, bringing the vision to life.

My name is Ariana Ahmed, I’m a graduating student in Interior Design at Cambridge School of Art. I have taken part in different creative studies since the start of my educational life such as art, photography, product design and graphic design.

I believe I’m a very creative person, and enjoy painting still life in my free time. I have also recently opened my own business, Baharblooms on Instagram, where I sell bespoke handmade bouquets which are made from pipe cleaners.

The core of my third-year major project was at the Cambridge Museum of Technology. We were each given a specific area of the site to redesign based on relevant research, case studies and our own design thinking.

I received the Steam Engine Room to work on, where the main goal of my design was to improve the movement of people, attract more visitors and redesign the space to be interactive, ‘new and advanced’ yet showcase the history of what the museum once was. I worked with different techniques to communicate my design, through tracing paper, collage, digital drawings, and hand drawn sketches.
