I am Ellie Abernethy, a fashion design student finishing this year (2026). Over the course of these three years, I have focused on womenswear and looking a lot into historical works. My designs are primarily print based as I enjoy art and graphic work. My art is fine line style based on florals or my dual South-African- British heritage

I have learnt how to go through the whole process of design from initial ideas, to sketchbook work, to pattern cutting and sewing and doing print design digitally and handcrafted.

SS27 uses 1950s silhouettes, drawing on the dual heritage of British and South African grandparents. Stamp-style prints echo those collected by the British grandparents, layered with personal South African translations. The collection is a celebration of grandparents and heritage, uniting nostalgia, migration, and modern identity in motion.
