My work explores the relationship between control and spontaneity. Geometric shapes and lines represent structure and order, while more fluid marks express movement, energy, and life. By bringing these elements together, I create a balance between stability and freedom. I draw inspiration from Brazilian landscapes, culture, and history. Strong colours reflect the vibrancy and warmth of these references, while layers and textures give the work a physical presence. The use of tiles in my compositions refers to Brazil’s colonial past and the cultural exchanges that continue to shape its identity.
Crochet is an important material in my work. It introduces pattern and structure, but also carries personal and cultural meaning, connected to care, memory and tradition.
Through these elements, my work becomes a way of connecting past and present, personal experience and cultural identity
