"Pond" – multimedia illustration of the pond in my grandparents’ garden

Hi, I’m Hannah Suzanne!

I feel most inspired to illustrate elements of nature, human connection and self-expression.

I create a lot of work using multi-media methods, and I love to experiment with printmaking, ceramics, crochet and more to see ideas come to life in different ways.

Having fun with colour and mark making is an important part of my practice and I am always looking to explore and learn something new!

I enjoy working on projects that take on more abstract thinking- such as illustrating poetry and song lyrics. It makes illustration feel like an insight rather than an answer!

My final major project is a one-minute animation, based on my grandparents’ old garden in Germany. Their home was a big part of my life growing up, and so much of my creativity and play began in this garden.

After my grandpa passed away, the house had to be sold. The new owners changed the garden completely, and so I wanted to recreate the garden using photographs, tellings and my imagination. This was a nostalgia fuelled project and very close to my heart, I enjoyed piecing the garden back together and seeing my family recognise the elements I included.
