My name is Melissa Fern Gay and I am a theatre writer and emerging producer. I am currently in my final year of a BA (Hons) Drama & English Literature and have taken on the responsibility of Company Manager for the graduate Festival of Performance. Alongside this, I have also written a one-act play for the Festival titled ‘The Hundredth Tale’.
Outside of my studies, I have written the book, lyrics and designed the concept for three original musicals. Most notably ‘Riddle’, which is currently in development.
I have a passion for storytelling rooted in folklore, fairytale and classic theatre. Inspired by magic, myth and the enduring influence of Shakespearean drama. My work explores the space where the familiar meets the unexpected – reimagining traditional stories while developing new ones for contemporary audiences.
This portfolio showcases my writing, projects and ongoing creative work in theatre.
I’m always looking to collaborate, develop new productions and bring imaginative stories to the stage.
