My name is Olivia Paton, and I am a final year fashion communication and branding student. I have always been interested in fashion and beauty, especially in the way brands present themselves to create a strong identity. I see myself as quite a creative person, and I enjoy using that creativity to produce work that I feel genuinely proud of.
One of the things I enjoy most is mood boarding. I like bringing together colours, images and textures to build a clear concept, and it’s something I find really engaging and would love to pursue as part of my career. I also enjoy working on branding projects and coming up with ideas for campaigns or marketing, as it allows me to think about how brands connect with their audience.
I’m interested in going into fashion or beauty marketing in the future, as I like the balance between creativity and coming up with new ideas. I’m still developing my skills and figuring out my style, but I’m becoming more confident in my ideas and how I present them.
This digital showcase reflects some of the work I've created for my final project as well as the progress I’ve made over the past few years. It shows my creative interests, my development and where I hope to take my work next.
This project is based on my sustainable beauty brand, Unfold. Sweet beauty, sustainable by nature. From the start, I wanted to create a brand that felt modern, relatable and relevant while also being mindful of sustainability and the real impact of the beauty industry.
I began by researching sustainability and ethics within beauty, alongside exploring existing brands and current trends to help shape my ideas. This research helped me develop a clear direction for Unfold and understand how I wanted the brand to look, feel and communicate.
From there, I created a website for Unfold, focusing on branding, layout and the overall user experience. I wanted it to feel fun, engaging, and colourful while still clearly reflecting the brand’s values and appealing to my target audience. I then developed a campaign called Sugar Bloom to bring the brand to life visually. This included taking my own photographs and creating a lookbook.
This helped me communicate the identity and mood of the brand in a more creative and personal way. It was also a really enjoyable part of the project where I could experiment and be more expressive.
Overall, this project reflects my interest in fashion and beauty marketing and shows how I enjoy combining research with creative ideas to develop a brand from concept through to final outcome.
